A lecture-recital as part of the University of Hull’s symposium Piano Accompaniment in Practice. Recent years have seen significant developments in studies on chamber ensemble rehearsal and performance; however, the function of the pianist in the duo chamber ensemble and, more specifically, in their capacity as a piano accompanist, is still a relatively unexplored area of research. The purpose of this two-day symposium is to bring together researchers and practitioners to explore piano accompaniment practices.
