- McNeff: A Voice of One Delight
In 1822 the poet and radical thinker Percy Bysshe Shelley was drowned off the coast of Italy. His body was cremated on the beach in front of a crowd of onlookers, the first event in a series of actions by his family and other supporters to create a carefully-crafted image for posterity. So who was he really?
Written two years ago by Steven McNeff as a concert piece, A Voice of One Delight is here reworked as a stage piece for mezzo-soprano and piano, directed by Joe Austin.
