For our closing concert we return to the Schumanns and Brahms, where the New Paths idea began. Continuing our exploration of the song cycle, we hear one of the best-loved in the repertoire, Dichterliebe. Clara Schumann’s Three Romances are delightfully lyrical and still under-performed. We finish with Brahms’ magnificent B major piano trio: truly a concert of greats to conclude this year’s festival.
